The visa fees may differ based on location.
Types of United States Visa
United States visas can be categorized as Immigration and Non-immigration.
Immigration visas are issued to persons applying for permanent stay.
Non-immigration visas are issued to persons for a short period of time to travel to the United States for temporary reasons. Based on the purpose of your travel you will need to apply for one of the different classes of non-immigration visa listed below.

Visa Renewal Interview Waiver
Qualified applicants can submit applications for visas without attending a in-person interview at the Embassy.
To be eligible:
- Visa must be valid or expired within 4 years (48 months)
- Visa was issued at the age of 14 and above.
- Visa has not been revoked or cancelled.
- Visa has not been lost or stolen.
Interview Waiver for Children
Children are eligible to submit visa application without attending a in-person interview.
- One parent must possess a valid USA visa.
- Children from the age 0-13 years
Emergency US Visa Interview
A person US visa interview is able to be rescheduled for an earlier date based on the urgency to travel.
- Death of an immediate family member
- Attending an immediate relative funeral
- Critical ill relative
- Attending School
You may not be eligible for an emergency interview. Applying for a USA visa 6 months prior to travel plans prevent delays.
Reasons for Visa Refusal
There are many reasons why your visa applications may have been rejected by the consulate officer. Here are few:
- Incomplete visa application form
- Wrong/false information on your visa application form
- Not enough ties to your home country
- Past history of criminal activities
- Don't have a valid reason to travel to the US
You can reapply for a USA visa after a specific period.
Revoked or Cancelled Visa
Your visa can be cancelled or revoked for a variety of reasons at any time. Visa holders are to abide by the terms of their visa and exit the United States before their stay expires (usually 6 months).
A cancelled visa is usually less serious than a revoked visa. However a visa revocation can led to be barred for years and sometimes permanently.
