Visa Requirements for Visitors
If you're planning on visiting, make sure you have the following documents in order to apply for a visa:
- A valid passport
- A recent passport-sized photo
- A copy of your passport's data page
- A copy of your driver's license or national ID
- A signed job letter (if applicable)
- A business certificate (if self-employed)
- A student letter (if applicable)
- Bank statement(s) for the applicant
- A detailed itinerary
- A hotel reservation
- Cruise Itinerary (if applicable)
If your travel is sponsored, please provide the following:
- Invitation letter
- Copy of host passport/valid resident permit
- Current bank statements
- Certified copy of the passport of your host (if applicable)
For minors under 18 years of age, the following documents are required:
- Birth certificate
- Certified declaration of consent from the non-accompanying parent as listed on the birth certificate.
- Certified copy of the parent's valid picture-ID.
Understanding Your Australian Visa Stay Period
- Your visa grant letter specifies the period or dates you are permitted to stay in Australia.
- The length of your visa is determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into account factors such as the duration of your stay and the purpose of your visit.
- it is possible that Australia may not be able to grant your desired stay period.
- Australia offers both single and multiple entry visas: if you receive a multiple entry visa, you may enter and leave Australia while the visa is still valid.
- Typically, Australia grants a 3-month stay period, although certain circumstances may warrant a stay period of up to 12 months.
Eligibility for Australian Visa Application
To successfully apply for an Australian visa, there are certain requirements that must be met. These include:
- Meeting the health requirement: Applicants must be in good health to be granted a visa.
- Meeting the character requirement: Applicants must be of good character to be granted a visa.
- Repaying debts to the Australian government: Applicants must have paid or arranged to pay any debts owed to the Australian government.
- Having sufficient funds: Applicants must have access to enough funds to support themselves while in Australia.
- Being a genuine visitor: Applicants must demonstrate their intention to visit Australia for genuine reasons.

After You Apply
After submitting your visa application,
Australian Consulate will let you know when they have received your application and documents. Keep in mind that additional steps may be required, such as a medical examination or police clearance.
You will be notified of their decision on your visa application in writing/email. If your visa is granted, we will provide you with the following information:
- Visa grant number
- Visa start date
- Visa conditions
You must have a copy of the decision with you when you arrive in Australia.
If your visa was refused, you will know in writing and provide an explanation for the decision.

Your visa allows you to engage in the following activities:

- Visit your loved ones or friends
- Study or receive training for up to three months
