Requirements Checklist
These are general requirements, and every application is different. Some documents may not be required, while additional documents may be recommended based on your individual circumstances. During your appointment, we'll review your application and guide you on the documents needed to help strengthen your application.
- Valid Jamaican passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond intended stay)
- Form I-20 issued by your US school (SEVIS ID required)
- SEVIS fee payment receipt (Form I-901)
- Recent passport-sized photograph
- Proof of financial support (bank statements, sponsor letter)
- Academic transcripts and certificates
- Proof of English language proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS scores)
- Letter of acceptance from the US institution
- Evidence of ties to Jamaica (intent to return after studies)
Important Note
An interview at the US Embassy is required. Demonstrate strong ties to Jamaica and clear intent to return after completing your studies.
