Gainful Occupation Licence (GOL)

The Gainful Occupation Licence (GOL) is required for foreign nationals who wish to work in the Cayman Islands. It is employer-sponsored and tied to a specific job.

Government / Embassy Fee

KYD $500–$1,000 (varies by occupation)

Payable directly to the embassy or consulate. Not included in our service fee.

AOS Service Fee

JMD $8,000

Covers document preparation, application review, and personalised guidance throughout the process.

Requirements Checklist

These are general requirements, and every application is different. Some documents may not be required, while additional documents may be recommended based on your individual circumstances. During your appointment, we'll review your application and guide you on the documents needed to help strengthen your application.

  • Valid Jamaican passport
  • Job offer from a Cayman Islands employer
  • Completed GOL application (submitted by employer)
  • Police clearance certificate from Jamaica
  • Medical examination results
  • Educational and professional qualifications
  • Proof of relevant work experience
  • Passport-sized photographs
  • Birth certificate

Important Note

The GOL application is primarily submitted by your Cayman Islands employer. The employer must demonstrate that no suitable Caymanian candidate was available for the role.
